The village of Algoz, belonging to the municipality of Silves, is situated in the Algarve Barrocal, bathed in the river of Silves, a valley bounded by high ground. Today, Scourge remains a predominantly rural village, sheltered from the urban-tourism development in the region, with little trade or restoration. The zoo and amusement park Krazy World are situated near Algoz. And they are well known for providing the opportunity to interact with several species of animals.
